Cutting Edge, brand new
Parkinson's trial being done in USA.
By the grace of God, putting me in the right place at the right time I have become part of an exciting new nation wide trial that could revolutionalise the way Parkinson's is treated in the future.
I am one of 4 subjects in Ohio and one of 8 nationwide.
It's testing a non invasive procedure replacing deep brain stimulation. There is no incision - it is done completely out side the head using an ultra sound procedure.
The initial results have been amazing & without the risk that surgery carries.
It is for people with primarily unilateral tremor (tremor is worse on one side.)
I always wondered how to get in on a trial.
If you or some one you know has Parkinsons and are wondering the same, info is as follows:
Protocal No PD002
WIRB Protocol20160947
2016W0051
Sponsor InSightec
Investigator Vibbor Krishna
480 Medical Center Dr
Columbus, OH 43210
I was referred by my neurologist -assume that is the route but it is so new that most doctors are not aware of it's existance. You may have to track down Dr. Krishna's phone # through OSU (Ohio State University) Hospitals Department of Neuromodulation
